Business Response to Aids (BRTA)

Being a BRTA partner means that Hope & Help will make sure you have all the resources at your disposal to help reduce HIV transmissions in our communities. As a BRTA partner, we can provide health education trainings and free HIV/STI testing for your employees and customers.

History of BRTA
BRTA has been in operation since 1992 in the US. It was created by the CDC to engage the business community in the movement to end the spread of HIV/STIs. The program operates based on the four (4) principles below.
Prevention and Education
Provides resources and tools to implement HIV awareness, prevention, and testing efforts in the workplace.
Policies
Implements peer-based technical assistance on HR policies that address stigma and discrimination, the rights of people living with HIV, and inclusion of HIV-specific insurance coverage in the workplace.
Treatment and Support Services

Philanthropy and Volunteerism

  • While Orlando is known for many things – Disney World and Universal Studios, it’s also known for other things. According to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, Orlando ranks #3 in the nation for most new HIV transmissions. This statistic reveals the health disparity and epidemic facing our community. However, something can be done. You and your business can act – become a part of the movement to end the spread of HIV by becoming a BRTA partner today.
  • The Business Response to AIDS is a way for local businesses to be a part of fighting to end the rising infection rates here in Central Florida. You are recognized as a community leader and by joining other merchants in our area, we can help make HIV prevention materials accessible to the community.
