Idea Orlando - Syringe Service Program (SSP)
Our program is dedicated to reducing the spread of infectious diseases such as HIV and Hepatitis C while connecting individuals to essential health and wellness resources.
Through our anonymous Syringe Services Program (SSP), we not only support healthier communities, but also promote safer, cleaner neighborhoods by helping prevent discarded drug paraphernalia from impacting public spaces.

Our Approach To Treatment
We support the health and wellness of every drug user. For some, quitting has saved their lives. For others, that may not be an option. We do not force anyone into treatment or judge anyone that walks through our doors. Our services are free, anonymous, and confidential. We choose to help people who use drugs by referrals, advocacy, and counseling.
Program Overview
Initial Program enrollment takes at least 30-45 minutes and participants are encouraged to be screened for HIV and Hepatitis C at least every 3-months. Once enrolled, you will receive an enrollment card that you will need to present each time you return for services. The enrollment card also serves as an educational tool in case you are questioned by legal authorities.
Syringe Pickup Service
If you see a syringe in any part of Orange County, DO NOT TOUCH IT! The syringe may be used and could possibly carry viruses or other blood-borne diseases. Call IDEA Orlando at 407.749.2105 and we will pick it up and dispose of it safely.

How to Use Narcan
NARCAN® Nasal Spray is a prescription medicine used for the treatment of a known or suspected opioid overdose emergency with signs of breathing problems and severe sleepiness or not being able to respond. NARCAN® Nasal Spray is to be given right away and does not take the place of emergency medical care. Get emergency medical help right away after giving the first dose of NARCAN® Nasal Spray, even if the person wakes up.
